Day 1: Marrakech – Dades Valley
Leave Marrakech by private 4×4 and travel through the Atlas Mountains towards Ait Ben Haddou, where there is time for lunch and to explore the historic fortified village. Continue through Ouarzazate towards the Dades Valley, where you will settle into your hotel and have time to relax after the first day’s journey.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)
Continue towards Todra Gorge before travelling on to Merzouga and the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Here you will meet your camels and ride across the sand to the desert camp, where dinner, traditional music and an evening beneath the Sahara night sky await.
Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Midelt
Wake-up to see sunrise over the dunes before travelling by camel out of the desert to meet your driver. From Erg Chebbi, continue north through the changing Moroccan countryside towards Midelt for your overnight stay.
Day 4: Midelt – Fes
Continue north towards Fes, travelling through the wooded landscapes around Azrou, where monkeys can often be seen along the way. Arrive in Fes and settle into your riad, ready to spend the evening in one of Morocco’s best-known historic cities.
Day 5: Fes – Chefchaouen
Travel north from Fes to Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. Spend time among the blue-washed streets, steps and small squares of the medina before settling into your hotel for the night. The change from the Sahara and Fes to Chefchaouen gives this final part of the tour a very different pace and setting.
Day 6: Chefchaouen – Marrakech
Leave Chefchaouen for the journey south to Marrakech, with stops for refreshments and lunch along the way. Your private driver will allow time for breaks during the journey, with arrival in Marrakech depending on traffic and the pace of the day.
