Sahara Camp Shade and Tents

At our Erg Chigaga Luxury Sahara Camp, we have just expanded our number of tents to 8, keeping the same 6 Tent Suites around the camp fire and adding two private tents at separate locations near to the original circle.  The nomadic circle is the traditional way of positioning the tents with the camp fire in the centre for warmth and safety and our camp is set up in this way with a large lounge and restaurant tent included.  The feeling is of coming together, community and warmth and is a great location for groups who can book the camp exclusively.

As the summer approaches, we are also building an extension to our kitchen eco-building at the sahara camp which is made from mud bricks directly from the earth at the camp site. This will function as a cool place for guests to hang out with colourful rugs and cushions and natural seating and relaxing areas.  The mud bricks allow the building to be warm in the winter and cool in the summer and are the only place to escape the heat during the day when temperatures rise.  We have also recently added a hammock shade for spending time near to the camp to soak up the peace of the surroundings.

We are able to bring in additional tents or include the camp near to us in larger bookings and Erg Chigaga in the Moroccan Sahara is a fantastic place for wedding parties, birthday celebrations, family get togethers, Yoga retreats and other group activities.  As the sun sets and the group arrive in a 4×4 convoy across the desert dunes, traditional music played by our local musicians greets them and the fun begins!  Guests can spend their days sunning on the loungers, hiking up the high dunes, camel trekking or sand boarding before lavish Moroccan meals are served under the stars!
